On the social scene, friends and acquaintances call me Kini.
In the corporate and media arena, I went by Jean. I respond to both.
My video spokesperson business started in 2014. I have never looked back. There are weeks, and sometimes months, when sales slumped. Having a sales support background, I am familiar with the volatility. I still kept on shooting, editing, marketing, learning and learning some more. I truly love having my own "home business."
I enjoy being in control every day. I am the boss. I have 2 loyal assistants that are with me everyday as I grow my business. I also outsource often to help get the load off. If I could do it all, I totally would (if you know me really well, you know this is true).
In retrospect, I am grateful for the professional careers I have held: Digital Sales Support, Broadcast TV News Anchor/Producer, Radio News Announcer, Real Estate Sales Agent/Realtor (NAR), Press Secretary, Polynesian Dancer, Freelance Writer for business publications, web content creator, and a waitress. I am also a two-time university drop-out.
Today, I am a video editor, web producer/director, on-camera talent, and founder/owner of Hudson MediaRoom. I work from home, too. Bonus, baby. BONUS!
It still feels like a dream that I don't have to be at a job, at a specific time, Monday - Friday. I surely don't miss the days waiting for the clock to hit 5:30pm or 7:00pm (it just depends on the job). Honestly, I do work more hours.. BUT I like it this way.
So, that's it. In a nutshell. About me. I'm keeping it short and leaving out the negativity + vulgarity, the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Lately, I've been acting on this crazy idea to help others achieve their desires of working from home and also convincing them that if they're not doing video, they're missing out.
